
Who we are:
We are a non-profit corporation comprised of residents, business owners, citizens, and parents in Quincy, MA. We are concerned with the growing epidemic of drug abuse in our community.
Our Mission Statement:
End Drug Abuse Now (EDAN) exists to create a safe, drug free community through outreach, training, and support.
What We Do:
- EDAN is working with the Quincy Police Narcotics Division to assist them with stopping drug trafficking.
- EDAN assist parents and addicts with finding beds for the addict in crisis.
- EDAN is teaching members of the community, drug awareness, avoidance, and steps to take if someone you know is an addict.
- EDAN has members trained to teach drug awareness and avoidance in the Quincy School System. This presentation is tailored with the age groups considered, and has a power point presentation for visual aids.
- A representative has asked for EDAN's help in locating a suitable facility to house a 60 bed Oxycontin and Heroin addiction detox clinic.
- EDAN is working with the Mayor of Quincy's Drug Task Force.
- EDAN is in the planning stages with regard to creating a training facility to teach recovering addicts and parolees viable life skills and job training. Our module will replicate the Delancey Street Program, founded in San Francisco. www.delanceystreetfoundation.org
